The Chimborazo Prefecture, through the Provincial Patronage, carries out work in the territory with the medical brigades through home visits, in the Llucud community of the Chambo canton. Free general medicine is provided and social assistance is given, prioritizing the elderly with limited economic resources.
Isabel Maldonado, Director of the Provincial Board of Trustees, announced that the beneficiaries are mainly elderly people who are in a vulnerable condition, for which it works in conjunction with the Management Committee of the Chambo canton.
On the other hand, Priscila Calva, general practitioner of the Type “B” Health Center of the Provincial Board, carried out the respective evaluation of the elderly in the “Central” and “Natividad” neighborhoods of the Llucud community. Most of the patients had chronic degenerative diseases.
Meanwhile, Carmen Domínguez, social worker of the Provincial Board, proceeded to comply with the collection of information, identification and assessment of the elderly. In all cases, the corresponding treatment was indicated along with the delivery of free medicine.
“It is a very good job because in the field we have always lacked attention, God pay them, that they keep coming, especially to attend to our elderly”, said Fabiana Cargua, daughter of one of the beneficiaries and at the same time thanked Dr. Juan Pablo Cruz, prefect of the province.
For her part, Lida Quishpi, 74-year-old daughter of Ángel María Quishpi thanked the Chimborazo Prefecture for reaching the most needy towns in Chambo, “I want to express sincere appreciation for the concern they have with our older adults, thank you”.
