The Prefecture promotes the raising of pigs and production units for families of priority groups

In order to promote breeding, improve knowledge in the management of pig production and in the future implement production units in the Guagal, Copalillo and Sacramento areas of the Cumandá canton, the Prefecture of Chimborazo, on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, to Through the Provincial Board, it delivered 115 breeding piglets of the Yorkshire breed, 10 weeks old and 73.12 kg of balanced growth, to the families of the priority care groups.

During the event, the Vice-Prefect of Chimborazo, Carmen Gadbay; the Director of the Provincial Board of Trustees, Vinicio Chávez, and the Coordinator of the Interculturality and Gender Unit of the Social Management Directorate, Martha Chucho.

“We have to give chimboracenses, through this economic strengthening project, the power precisely to provide an opportunity to continue growing, to continue promoting the productive issue, with breeding piglets, and that tomorrow they can count on this sustenance ”, Indicated Vinicio Chávez, Director of the Provincial Board of Trustees.

The delivery of a total of 210 bags of balanced growth was also fulfilled, for the nutrition of pigs.

“Additionally, 115 kits of didactic material were distributed, for training on issues of law and technical management of suckling pigs, to each beneficiary, thereby guaranteeing the corresponding technical follow-up, so that the project continues,” he stressed.
