Older adults, people with disabilities and with limited economic resources, boys, girls and young people from the La Moya community, belonging to the Calpi parish of the Riobamba canton, received medical assistance at the Mobile Health Unit of the Provincial Board of Trustees. With prior coordination with community leaders, the medical brigade in this sector was present where 30 people in general medicine and 15 in dentistry were treated. “The Mobile Health Unit runs through all the marginal urban neighborhoods, parish capitals and rural communities in the province of Chimborazo, providing free medical services and medicines,” explained Cristian Uquillas, a technician from the Provincial Board of Trustees. For her part, Patricia Miñarcaja, leader of the La Moya community, said she was very grateful to the doctors who came to pay attention to the population, “we are very happy and satisfied with the work of Mr. Prefect, it has not cost us a single penny It is a great help because we do not have money to pay for medicine or to go to the doctors ”, he mentioned. “Due to the pandemic we cannot go to the Health Sub-Center, we fear contagion and the trip costs, God pays you for being with us, the indigenous people, the presence of the doctors of the Provincial Board was a great relief,” said María León, resident of area.
