Ophthalmological campaign for the benefit of priority attention groups

The Prefecture of Chimborazo, through the Type “B” Health Center of the Provincial Board, in an inter-institutional agreement with the “Sancho” clinic, complied with the Ophthalmological Campaign for the well-being of the priority attention groups of the Penipe and Riobamba cantons.

Carlos Cepeda, head of the Type “B” Health Center of the Provincial Board, reported that, during the medical day, about 181 low-income patients were treated, of this number, 32 lenses were made with approximately 50% discount .

“There was permanent support and coordination from the technical, professional and administrative team of the Provincial Board of Trustees and the Prefecture of Chimborazo,” he said.

Rocío Navarrete, upon receiving the lenses, thanks to the “Sancho” clinic, recognized the management carried out by the provincial institution. “Mr. Prefect, Juan Pablo Cruz, is very much appreciated, who is doing a good job for all the needy people in the province,” she said.

For her part, Verónica Cujano, stated that the ophthalmological campaign helped children and adolescents, “I hope they continue to support us all (…) we thank the Prefecture of Chimborazo, and the Sancho clinic,” she concluded. In addition, health professionals provided comprehensive services in general medicine, physiotherapy, dentistry and obstetrics, delivering medications free of charge.
