“Today we are doing an act of humanism (…) because we are going to continue delivering nutritional food rations, with Andean products that contain a high protein load for the proper development of families,” explained Juan Pablo Cruz, prefect of Chimborazo. It will work in phases, the first will serve 85,804 people from 21,451 families with an amount exceeding 235 thousand dollars. In the second phase, 115,396 people from 28,849 families will benefit, with an amount of around 250 thousand dollars.
During the report on the implementation of the project, Roberth Ríos, Planning Director of the Chimborazo Prefecture, announced that some of the goals are the installation of 48 disinfection tunnels, creating an information system for the social registry of people in a state of vulnerability of the province of Chimborazo and try to reduce the risk of contagion of Covid-19 in 70% of families participating in the project.
