The prefecture of Chimborazo, in coordination with the General Directorate of Irrigation and community leaders; delivered pvc and pressure pipes of 110mm x 0.63 MPa, which will serve to improve the irrigation project in the Obraje and Gompuene San Vicente communities, belonging to the Flores parish of Riobamba canton.
The first delivery was made in the Obraje community, where the 55 users received 1,200 meters of pipe, meanwhile, in Gompuene San Vicente 1,000 meters were delivered, benefiting 83 more families; With this support, it will be possible to improve the irrigation of 80 hectares of these two communities dedicated to agriculture.
“For these communities the dream comes true and farmers will be able to have more water to irrigate their land,” said Marcelo Alvarado, General Director of Irrigation of the Provincial Government.
The objective is to strengthen agricultural and livestock work in the productive areas of the province. “We are making known the investment that the Chimborazo Prefecture is making in favor of the farmers and ranchers of the Flores parish, this time we deliver pipes for the irrigation project, the purpose is to improve the service for our users who have not been cared for a long time ”, indicated Luis Falconí, General Coordinator of the Chimborazo Prefecture.
In the Gompuene San Vicente Community it is the second installment that takes place this year; now the water will reach more sectors and more users, who will be able to irrigate their plots and increase agricultural production.
