Chimborazo Prefecture delivers paving of the Shabasnay road

The Chimborazo Prefecture, in coordination with the technicians of the Public Works Directorate, delivers the paving of the Shabasnay road, Pumallacta parish, Alausí canton, 1 phase and has a length of 251.70 meters.

The inauguration was held in the presence of Dr. Juan Pablo Cruz, Prefect, accompanied by Carmen Gadvay, vice-prefect, in the presence of the residents of this community and the media.

In his speech, the first authority of the province, highlighted the support that the Prefecture is giving to these sectors that were forgotten, “I feel very happy for you and very grateful to God for giving us health and life. It has not been long, it is only 1 year 4 months that we are in management, but despite the pandemic and the national strike last year, here in Pumallacta the work has not stopped. For this reason, on this day I allow myself to inaugurate this route that benefits several communities in this sector ”.

On the other hand, another historical event that happened on this day is the Council session, which for the first time took place in Pumallacta, Alausí canton, where Dr. Juan Pablo Cruz, participated together with the councilors; Arturo Urgiles and Ángel Paño, and unanimously, the BDE loan of USD 1,200,000 was approved that will be used for the purchase of machinery that will complete the road equipment, for asphalt, road maintenance and signage.

 

In this act, 2000 native plants and 800 fruit plants were delivered by the Environmental Management Directorate, through the campaign, “Sowing for Life Chimborazo.” This project will benefit 200 families, 900 people and will also protect 900 hectares of páramo, thus taking care of the water sources of the province.

 

Gina Muñoz, secretary of the GAD of Pumallacta, thanked the prefect for being present in the territory, “thank you for this dream that came true, we are a productive sector, this route benefits us all.”

For his part, Juan Bautista Chafla, resident of the Shabasnay community, also thanked the Chimborazo Prefecture for the support, “I thank them a lot for the paving they have made, other authorities have had us abandoned, but currently the new administration is complying with us, ”he said.
