The Chimborazo Prefecture, through the Provincial Board, constantly evaluates the situation of the elderly. On this occasion, a visit was made to the elderly of the San Antonio de Bayushig parish, Penipe canton, who present inability to mobilize. The technicians of the Board of Trustees arrived at the homes to deliver aid: 1 wheelchair, 3 canes and free medicine, through the team of the Medical Health Unit, with the aim of improving the living conditions of these people.
Vinicio Chávez, Director of the Provincial Board, toured and touched the realities and needs of the elderly in a state of vulnerability and indicated the commitment that as an institution arises for the benefit of society, with the delivery of fundamental resources that improve the quality of life . “With the articulation and the joint work of the Bayushig Parish GAD, we visited the elderly in a state of vulnerability, delivering supplies that they so much need,” he said.
And he added, “We have been able to feel the needs felt by our grandparents, who have given everything for our province. The reality of the elderly, who live alone, humanly forces us to reach people in a state of vulnerability with technical aids, and even more so, in the midst of this health crisis that the country is experiencing ”.
María Del Carmen Haro, a relative of one of the beneficiaries, stated that, “even more so in these difficult times, it is gratifying to know that the provincial authority serves these sectors. In these moments of health crisis and difficult economy, we have paid a visit to all the elderly who need help. They gave us medicine that will help my mother a lot to relieve her pain. Thank you very much to Dr. Juan Pablo Cruz for sending us this great help ”, he stressed.
