The Prefecture of Chimborazo, through the Coordination of Inclusion and Interculturality and Gender of the Directorate of Social Management, delivered 1,200 chickens and balanced chicken to the women of the Penipe canton, as part of the project “Strengthening the center of bio-knowledge and transfer of rural agricultural technology Las Abras ”.
The prefect of the province, Juan Pablo Cruz, stressed that investment is being made in people, “it is something positive and hopeful for women heads and mothers of families who are the sustenance of their homes. This delivery of chickens that generate the production of green eggs accommodates an entrepreneurial initiative that will serve as seed capital for the progress of families in this sector ”, he mentioned.
The objective is to promote and mitigate chronic malnutrition in children under 5 years of age, in addition to promoting a culture of peace, non-violence and discrimination against men and women in the province. This project will be monitored for the generation of timely resources that will benefit 363 heads of families.
Lourdes Mancero, mayor of the Penipe canton, expressed the joint work between the two institutions for the progress of her canton. “Today we received a productive project for our people, thanks to the Prefecture for this seed capital that will help the residents, we are satisfied, joining efforts and resources to give tools to the agricultural and agricultural sector (…), we have the first technical office that will work in the follow-up of this project ”.
Himelda Meneses, beneficiary of the project, expressed the importance of this project for each of her families. “I feel happy and grateful to the Prefect of the province for delivering these chickens that will be very useful for us, we will be able to continue raising these animals, which will contribute economically to all beneficiary settlers.”
