The Chimborazo Prefecture, through the Directorate of Tourism and International Cooperation, signed agreements with institutions of the city, with the aim of strengthening Tourism and Culture as instruments of activation of the province.
The agreements were signed with the Visocial Educational and Cultural Foundation, the Flores Franco Native Art Foundation and the Chimborazo Dance Association, as part of the strengthening of community tourism in the province of Chimborazo, which especially involves the rural population.
Juan Pablo Cruz, prefect of the province, pointed out the importance of promoting these actions for the benefit of art and culture. “Education, culture and sport are fundamental for the positive development of a society. (…) Investing in Tourism in the province of Chimborazo is good business for society, we bet on you, we invest in our people and with the correlation of knowledge actors that cannot be improvised, but permanent, ”he said .
Likewise, Luis Falconí, director of Tourism and International Cooperation, said that within the public policy of the current administration, the most important thing is to work in Tourism and cultural development. “With the signing of these three agreements we intend to continue supporting tourism and culture as a public policy (…), we trust that in the coming months, in this phase 2 reactivation, Chimborazo will continue to position itself as a great tourist destination at the level national and international ”, he added.
For her part, Piedad Zurita, president of the Fundación Arte Nativo Flores Franco, highlighted the joint work with the provincial institution. “It is very important that the first provincial institution has taken up the cultural and cinematographic issue as part of its public policy. Together with the vision of our Prefect, we will make our province have a global dimension in the field of culture and tourism ”, he pointed out.
