Delivery of birds in Penipe will boost the family economy of the population

More than 400 dollars approximately will be the daily income of the poultry producers, in the Matus parish of the Penipe canton, with an estimated 1,750 free-range eggs, which will be produced daily by the birds (including hens and roosters) delivered this Thursday, January 27, by part of the Prefecture of Chimborazo.

A total of 2,500 birds were delivered to 250 families in the sector, each benefiting from 9 hens and a rooster, to produce field eggs with 80% fertility.

“These are families that belong to the priority attention groups and that have needed a real productive promotion (…) the animals are 10 weeks old, that is, we are investing for nuclear family production with rooster and chicken eggs or, in turn, with more birds“, indicated Juan Pablo Cruz, Prefect of Chimborazo.

The management is complemented with training by the technicians of the Productive Development Department, on topics such as the development of basic infrastructure for the production of free-range eggs and the strategic work plan.

“This work is being done jointly with the shared budgets that society has prioritized in production (…) all work is linked to the roads in good condition that we promote as an institution,” Cruz said.

It is planned to implement 250 basic chicken coops necessary for the start of production; This delivery is added to the support for productivity that the provincial government has promoted since the beginning of the administration in 2019.

“This has been possible with an investment of 15,000 dollars, approximately in two and a half months they will begin to produce eggs,” explained Edison Campos Collaguazo, Director of Productive Development of the Provincial Government

The eggs that the birds will produce will be of high quality and the productive parameters of the animals will be increased to boost the economy of families with sales in various areas of the province.
