Cobblestone factory will boost the economy of the inhabitants of the Columbe parish

Thanks to the agreement signed with the Parish GAD of Columbre, the Prefecture of Chimborazo was able to transfer resources worth USD 50,000, for the construction of a cobblestone factory, which was inaugurated on the morning of this Tuesday, January 25, which will serve for the cleaning of its streets. The event was attended by Juan Pablo Cruz, Prefect of Chimborazo, Carmen Gadbay, Vice Prefect, Carlos Caizaguano, President of Columbe and several local authorities.

“One of the main objectives of the Provincial Government and the parish GAD of Columbe, was to work in an articulated manner to implement the cobblestone factory, which contributes to increasing the number of roads in good condition by laying rural cobblestone (…) in addition, improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of this agricultural and livestock area,” said Juan Pablo Cruz, Prefect of Chimborazo.

The total investment amount is 65,000 dollars (includes 15,000 dollars from the counterpart of the Columbe GAD), in addition, through the participatory budget for the year 2022, USD 30,000 will be transferred, in materials for the factory with which more than 116,000 will be produced. cobblestones, which is used to intervene the road sections.

The provincial authority recognized that this factory is one of the most important and efficient in Chimborazo; ratified its commitment to continue working for the benefit of the inhabitants of this parish and canton.

The gratitude of the beneficiaries was reflected through a plaque, which shows the work carried out by the authorities of the province, in favor of the 16,000 inhabitants of 64 communities of Columbe, the ribbon was also cut with which officialized the beginning of the factory’s functions.

“This is not for us leaders, this work is for all of you, for your children, for your communities, we are here to serve our people without looking at politics (…) we are going to continue working as a team in favor of the inhabitants of my parish,” said Carlos Caizaguano, president of the Columbe Parish GAD.
