Vulnerable groups in Cumandá improve their quality of life thanks to the projects of the Provincial Board

With the aim of improving the quality of life of the priority care groups of the Guagal, Copalillo and Sacramento precincts of the Cumandá canton, technicians from the Provincial Board of Chimborazo, carried out the supervision and inspection of the project of suckling pigs that were previously delivered, in the Sacramento and Copalillo enclosures.

Gaspar Novillo, inspector of the Prefecture of Chimborazo, found that the project is currently meeting the objectives set out in the agreement, related to socio-economic strengthening. “At the moment, the piglets, some are in a state of pregnancy and others with offspring, there is satisfaction among the beneficiaries (…) because with the sale of the piglets, they will have economic income in their homes,” he said.

The project began in March 2021, through the Provincial Board, with the delivery of 115 breeding piglets of the improved “Yorkshire” breed, 10 weeks old and 73.12 kg of balanced growth, to each of the families of priority attention groups, in addition, educational material for training on issues of rights and technical management of pigs.
