The Chimborazo prefecture, through the Public Works Directorate, carries out the maintenance and improvement of the main roads of the Flores parish of the Riobamba canton, with the aim of improving the quality of life of its inhabitants.
There are 16 km of intervention at the level of ballasting, patching, cleaning and restructuring of ditches; With the recovery of these sections, more than 1,500 families from 13 communities of the agricultural and livestock territory of Chimborazo benefit.
Thalía Espinoza, Public Works technician of the Provincial Government, pointed out that, in the Flores parish, the works include three main branches, in the first section from the Galgualán community to Guantul, the second from Verde Cruz to the Santa Ana de Yalligchi community and the third from the parish head to the Guacantús community.
“I want to highlight the work done by the residents of the communities who have supported us permanently to carry out this cleaning,” said Espinoza.
Juan Carlos Ilvis, president of the Parish Government, thanked the authorities of the institution, for working in favor of the most needy sectors of the province, attending to the requests of the sector. “We have managed to recover these roads that were destroyed (…) with this, our producers will be able to enter and leave their communities without any problem.”
For his part, Hugo Saes, resident of the Guacantús community, explained that these routes are important to transport products quickly to Guamote, Colta, or Riobamba, “I am very grateful to the prefect, Juan Pablo Cruz, who is working for us farmers, who were abandoned ”.
