More than 900 families of the Punín parish in Riobamba benefit from road interventions

Machinery of the Chimborazo prefecture, began road improvement work in the Guaslán Grande community of the San Luis parish in Riobamba, benefiting more than 180 families in the area, who are dedicated to growing vegetables, legumes, tomatoes and fruits. .

Once the work in this sector is completed, the intervention will immediately begin in the Punín parish, in a length of 15 km, benefiting more than 900 families from the Pulshi, Bashalan, San Blak, San Sebastián, Gulalac, Nauteg communities. , San Vicente, Tzalarón, LanLan, Cachiguayco.

“These works that are carried out in our area, allow the inhabitants to have means in good conditions to mobilize their products towards the main markets of the country (…) in this sector the majority are dedicated to agriculture and livestock, this activity being the main source of income for their families,” said Tatiana Orozco, a Public Works technician for the Provincial Government of Chimborazo.

For Luis Guzmán, a resident of the Guaslán community, the road is important because the inhabitants use it to transport their products. “Before, everything was damaged by the poor state of the road, for this reason, I am very grateful to the authorities of the Chimborazo prefecture,” he said.

From January to November of this year, more than 980 km of road improvement and maintenance have been intervened throughout the province, exceeding 191 thousand inhabitants benefited. With these works, the Prefecture of Chimborazo provides new development opportunities to each Chimboracense family.
