The Mobile Health Unit of the Provincial Board of Chimborazo cared for children, adolescents and the elderly from rural communities, Chicho Bajo of the Achupallas parish of Alausí canton and Pantaño of Chambo canton, providing services in general medicine, dentistry and free medicines .
In Chicho Bajo, the vice-prefect, Carmen Gadvay, expressed the permanent commitment of Dr. Juan Pablo Cruz in continuing to visit the parish capitals and rural communities of the province, covering the different health-related needs of the population with limited economic resources.
Luis Naranjo, dentist at the Type “B” Health Center of the Provincial Board, indicated that he helped with dental extractions and dressings to residents of low economic resources in these communities who have not been able to attend a health center.
Santiago Pazán attended general medicine, found problems of chronic diseases and urinary tract, as well as intestinal infections, acute, mild and moderate respiratory complications, for that reason he gave medicines; pain relievers, vitamins, calcium, nutritional supplements, and antibiotics.
Karen Guevara Sagñay, resident of Pantaño, expressed her gratification for the medical care and said “they helped me a lot with the aches and pains that I complained about, everything was free, so I thank Mr. Prefect for coming to our community and helping us , both to my child and to me, especially now that we are with this pandemic and without work ”.
On the other hand, Alexandra Quishpe, mother of the Pantaño family mentioned that the help of the Chimborazo Prefecture is welcome, “it is very good that the doctors of the Provincial Board come to visit us because they facilitate us a lot, since it is difficult for us to go to some Centro de Salud, for fear of contagion, we are grateful that everything was free ”.
