Carmen Gadbay is the new Vice-prefect of Chimborazo.

With eleven votes in favor, in an extraordinary session of the Honorable Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Province of Chimborazo held this Thursday, July 2, 2020, the plenary session of the Council elected Carmen Amelia Gadbay Guaylla as Vice-prefect.

The HGADPCH appointed the new Vice-prefect based on article 47 literal “n” of the Organic Code of Territorial Organization, Autonomies and Decentralization, Cootad, which indicates: “To appoint, from outside its bosom, the vice-prefect or vice-prefect, in case of definitive absence of the holder, of a short list presented by the prefect or prefect ”.

Juan Pablo Cruz, prefect of Chimborazo, presented the short list consisting of: María Mercedes Torres Yongol, Inés María Zuma Ilbay and Carmen Amelia Gadbay Guaylla, so that the councilors choose and appoint the new authority.

Carmen Amelia Gadbay Guaylla, 35 years old, from the Pistishi parish community in the Alausí canton, is the first Quichua Puruhá woman from that canton to assume the Vice-prefecture of our province.
