The Chimborazo Prefecture, in coordination with the Cacha parish GAD, belonging to the Riobamba canton, delivered hardware materials for the improvement of the Technified Irrigation System, which benefit the Cacha Obraje and Cacha Shilpalá communities.
The materials delivered are 105 quintals of cement, 12m3 of washed sand, 16m3 of crushed gravel and 580 units of 110mm x 0.60 mpa pvc pipe. The investment of the Provincial Government in this work is $ 11,953.06 that will benefit more than 120 families in the sector.
In addition, technical assistance will be provided to supervise the proper use of the materials, which are essential for the proper execution of the work in this irrigation system. The reception was held in the Cacha Machangara community with the presence of the Parish Government authorities and community leaders. “This is a benefit for our community, since this canal was created thirty years ago and we watered through the ditches, however with this support we are going to have an improvement in the system with the pipes that we are going to put because there will be a better flow for water our plots, ”said Juan Manuel Hipo, president of the Cacha Shilpalá Community.
On the other hand, Marcelo Tuabanda, president of the Cacha parish GAD, highlighted the articulation that was made with the Prefecture. “This work is going to benefit poor families in these communities that never had the support of other authorities,” he said.
This irrigation system has a useful life of thirty years, with this intervention the flow will improve and irrigators will be able to use the water in a better way, about 30 hectares in these two communities that belong to this parish.
