Chimborazo Prefecture began the installation of signage in tourist places in the province

The signage master plan that will be implemented throughout the province, started in the San Juan parish of Riobamba canton, where 13 fences were located in a 14 km stretch in the Pisicaz sector, La Delicia; sector in which hiking and mountain biking are practiced, which will allow you to easily reach the destination places, in addition to knowing the tourist attractions, services, orientation and information in this area.

This project promotes internal tourism, since thanks to the support of community members, now athletes and travelers, they are given a clear identification of tourist routes, with a totally safe route, recognized in kilometers with intermediate points; In addition, this signage has QR codes, to obtain complete information on the attractions of the site that they are going to visit.

“This first phase begins in the Riobamba canton and will gradually be placed throughout the province, in order to provide better information to visitors who will be able to know all the tourist attractions, services and others, without any problem,” said Juan Pablo Cruz, Prefect of Chimborazo.

For his part, Juan Carlos Peña, a technician from the Provincial Government’s Tourism Directorate, emphasized the impact of generating these tools, stated: “This type of signage is important considering that lately our province is among the main destinations for tourism nationwide. and internationally (…) as a prefecture, we have seen the need for this type of infrastructure to stimulate and strengthen tourism activity ”.
