The vice-prefect, Carmen Gadbay and the Director of the Provincial Board, Isabel Maldonado, proceeded to deliver health kits and technical aids to the elderly and people with disabilities with limited economic resources of the Cubijíes parish and the Julquís and Airón del canton Chambo.
In Cubijíes, a wheelchair, 5 canes and 4 walkers without wheels were delivered to the elderly members, in coordination with the Political Tenure, Parish GAD and leaders of the neighborhoods.
Meanwhile, in the Julquís and Airón communities, older adults were helped with 2 wheelchairs, a walker without wheels and 8 canes, in collaboration with the Cantonal Management Committee.
The Provincial Director highlighted the predisposition and management of the Prefect, “he is always concerned about serving the most vulnerable population of the cantons and parishes,” she emphasized.
“Counting on the medical certifications of the vulnerable groups, it was possible to carry out the respective identification and assessment, to comply with all the procedures that allowed the arrival of technical aids,” explained Carmita Domínguez, social worker of the provincial Board.
Rogelio Samaniego, president of the “La Cruz” neighborhood, considered as “very commendable the support and political will of the Prefect, Juan Pablo Cruz, for helping the people who most need this social assistance.”
On her side, the Political Lieutenant of the Cubijíes parish, Fanny Valdiviezo, also expressed appreciation for the work of the Chimborazo Prefecture and the provincial Board of Trustees for having prioritized service for vulnerable groups.
In addition, the Mobile Health Unit of the Provincial Patronage attended to citizens in the San Clemente community, Cubijíes parish in the Riobamba canton.
