Provincial Board of Trustees provides comprehensive care to older adults in the unit “My Golden Years”

In the comprehensive care unit “My Golden Years” of the “Home Care for the Elderly” Project, coordinated by the Provincial Board, in an inter-institutional agreement with the MIES, provides specialized care to 40 users with limited economic resources, coming from the neighborhoods San Rafael and El Florecer in the city of Riobamba and in the La Libertad neighborhood of the San Luis parish.

Vilma Montes Andrade, head of the unit “My Golden Years”, as a technician of the Provincial Board, indicated that they continue to ensure the well-being and good condition of people, older adults, and also maintain home visits, complying with the parameters of biosecurity and following the established protocols.

Likewise, they comply with the verification of the health status of the users and even, during the daily monitoring, they make replies about the correct use of the mask and the adequate washing of hands, considering that they are the most important prevention measures to avoid the contagion of covid-19. “We sensitize the elderly about violence, in order to eradicate it, as well as the mistreatment that may occur,” Montes mentioned.

Silvana Muñoz and Vilma Montes, the people in charge and the technicians of the “Attention to the Elderly” project, participated in the Socio-Economic Production Fair, where they delivered lupine seeds and technical aids in the San Miguel de Pomachaca community, Palmira parish , “We were with a stand of the project, exposing the crafts that the elderly have made in this time of pandemic, they were made with disposable material,” he said.
