Provincial Patronage serves 40 older adults with limited economic resources

 Through an inter-institutional agreement between the Provincial Board of Chimborazo and the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion, in the “My Golden Years” unit of the “Home Care for the Elderly” Project, attention is given to 40 users with limited economic resources, who come from from the San Rafael and EL Florecer neighborhoods of Riobamba, and the La Libertad neighborhood of the San Luis Parish.

Vilma Montes Andrade, technician of the Provincial Board, explained that “the work that is carried out daily and in a planned manner is carried out in co-responsibility with each family member of the elderly, using digital media, since due to the health emergency and to protect the health of the project beneficiaries, communication is through telephone calls and video calls, following the guidelines of the MIES ”, he mentioned.

This time they have worked in the social sphere, making crafts with materials that they have in the home of each older adult.

Also in this space, the opportunity is taken to remind users of the prevention measures they should have to avoid contagion of the virus, “we are always aware of the health and condition of each user of the My Golden Years unit,” Vilma said.
