Road projects in Licto and Pungalá are strengthened with the delivery of 4,000 quintals of cement

The Chimborazo Prefecture, through the Public Works Directorate, delivered 4,000 quintals of cement in the Licto and Pungalá parishes, which will be used in the road projects to be carried out in the Santa Ana de Guagñag community, Tulabug Escalera, San Isidro and San Nicolas; on a length of 3.8 kilometers of track.

Nicolás Chicaiza, president of the Santa Ana de Guagñag community, recognized that these road projects at the asphalt level are a dream come true. ‘ “The entire community is grateful for this great work since it will benefit more than 600 families living in four communities (…) it facilitates the entry of national and foreign tourists who visit the Tulabug hill,” he said.

It will improve the economy, strengthen agricultural and livestock work and tourism in the area. For his part, Alfredo Pinduisaca, beneficiary, referred to the constant support to rural sectors that for several years have been affected in the transit and transportation of their products.

“We welcome the cement with joy, since as community members, with these works we avoid migration from our land and it is a source of pride to have this great project, seeing works and not words,” he stressed.

At the end of the delivery event, Luis Pinduisaca, president of the La Primavera neighborhood of the Punín parish, accompanied by the residents, announced that for many years this work has remained in words by previous administrations. In addition, he emphasized “Now we are very grateful since these projects are going to become a reality, it facilitates the mobility of our products to the markets, improving the economy since these sectors live from agriculture and vehicles are not going to be mistreated.”
