The Provincial Board of Trustees delivered 3 wheelchairs, 1 cane for a blind person, 35 support canes and totally free medicine to the elderly and people with disabilities, belonging to the communities: San Pedro de Llucud, Airón, San Francisco and Titaycún from the Chambo canton, are 40 families that benefited from the support provided by the Prefecture.
The Director of the Provincial Board, Isabel Maldonado, stated that, thanks to Dr. Juan Pablo Cruz, Prefect of Chimborazo, who is always supporting the vulnerable population of the province, it is possible to continue with the medical-social assessment of the members of the the elderly and people with disabilities in their homes. “We are also activated with the Mobile Health Unit that is visiting all the cantonal and parish capitals, and communities according to an established schedule.”
“I thank the Prefect and the Provincial Board for the delivery of this cane that helped my aunt a lot.” Marina Tene Reino, 89-year-old niece Francisca Reino, resident of the San Francisco community, pointed out her gratitude to the Chimborazo Prefecture for the good will to help the elderly and people with disabilities in these sectors.
Mercedes Tene Choto, daughter of María Teresa Choto, 99 years old, from the San Francisco community, said “I thank you a lot for being here and helping us, we are very happy in the family, because we needed this support, my mother did this wheelchair is missing ”.
And finally, Marcelo Pilatuña, 80-year-old son-in-law of Francisca Cargua from the San Pedro de Llucud community, highlights “God pay you for these medicines and the cane given to my mother-in-law, who needed a lot, it is good that you support those who they have worked all their lives, thank you Dr. Juan Pablo Cruz, prefect of Chimborazo ”.
