52 heads of families of the Pull Grande community of the Guamote canton were trained by technicians from the Environmental Management Department of the Chimborazo Prefecture, the objective is to improve the quality of the 52 hectares of forest they own.
The training was carried out prior to the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Provincial Government and the community, as part of the forest management and exploitation project.
Forest partners received knowledge about the operation and maintenance of large and small chainsaws, height clippers and hand tools.
At the end of the theoretical part, the acquired knowledge was put into practice, making the cuts to the pine trees, applying the maximum height to which they should be pruned, to subsequently work on thinning.
In this way the current provincial administration works to improve the quality of our forests, with the provision of machinery and technical advice.
