The Provincial Board of the Chimborazo Prefecture trained leaders and community leaders from Penipe and Guamote on the management and care of fruit plants and the cultivation of chochos. This as part of the project “Socio-Economic Strengthening of Families of Priority Attention Groups” in the province.
Technicians from the Provincial Board of Trustees gave theoretical and practical training workshops, with the participation of community leaders and leaders from the communities and parishes where the families benefiting from the delivery of fruit plants and lupine seeds live.
Aurelio Espinoza, responsible for the productive project, explained that the training workshops on care and technical management of fruit plants were held in the San Luis parish of the Riobamba canton and in the cantonal capital of Penipe; as well as a teaching-learning event on lupine cultivation, in the Palmira parish of the Guamote canton.
The items included in the project “Socio-Economic Strengthening of Families of Priority Attention Groups” are related to fruit plants, such as “Emilia” apple, peach, lemon, avocado and claudia, and the cultivation of improved chocho seed .Writing: Arturo Lara
