Through an opening ceremony held in the Hall of Stone of the Prefecture, the presentation of the New Cycle of the Attention Service in the Child Development Centers (CDI) was carried out, in agreement with the MIES. At this inauguration was the Vice Prefect, Carmen Gadbay, the President of the Provincial Board, Mariana Carrillo and representatives of the MIES.
Mariana Carrillo, President of the Provincial Board of Trustees, pointed out that “in compliance with the rights of children and adolescents, the Prefecture of Chimborazo provides all support for the care of children living in extreme poverty and vulnerability in our city. There are 18 centers that operate in the different parishes of the city, where infants will be able to attend from 8 in the morning until 4:00 p.m., which will be under the care of professionals in this area ”.
Eng. Paulina Moreano, representative of the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES), highlighted the agreement of the Prefecture of Chimborazo with this institution, which serves to support this project that aims to provide support to families who for various For reasons, they must be absent from their homes, leaving their children abandoned, who by attending these centers receive good care, food, medical attention and, above all, good values.
On the other hand, Isabel Maldonado, Director of Management of the Chimborazo Provincial Board, mentioned “It is a moment of uncertainty knowing how we are going to work this time of pandemic with children, in what way we are going to be able to access them, however the I work together with the MIES, the Board of Trustees, the parents and you educators, we are going to succeed ”.
The Vice-Prefect of Chimborazo also intervened and stated that “It is in the hands of you educators, to work with that spirit, with that strength and energy for change, we want a province that moves forward and it is you who with your teachings will guide the future of Chimborazo ”.
Luis Basrantes, head of the CDI Patronato – Mies Project, thanked the prefect, Dr. Juan Pablo Cruz, for the support he has given for the signing of the agreement, which in this period covered 719 children and the objective until the end of the year is to get to 799.
