The provincial Board of Trustees reinforces the work to prevent child labor in Alausí

In the offices of the Municipal Government of Alausí, the technicians of the project “Progressive Eradication of Child Labor” of the Chimborazo Provincial Board, in agreement with the MIES, held a working meeting with the purpose of defining strategic alliances and coordinating actions in search of claiming rights and preventing children and adolescents from doing any type of work or being begging.

Estefanía Barreto, psychologist of the ETI-Achupallas project of the Provincial Board, indicated that “together with the rest of the professionals, a dialogue was maintained with Luis Vásquez, Administrative Director and with Rosita Benalcázar, Head of the Social Management Unit of the Municipality of Alausí, with the purpose of reinforcing the work to prevent children and adolescents from going to work in other sectors of the canton ”.

He also added that within the established agreements is to carry out approaches for the awareness and prevention of child labor in 3 sectors of the city of Alausí; Mercado Central, Feria Agropecuaria on the esplanade near the coliseum and in the central streets.

Among the agreements determined for inter-institutional work, the following were detailed; The Municipal GAD will provide openness and security through municipal agents during the execution of the boardings, while the ETI-Achupallas team of the Alausí canton, will detect, raise awareness and seek to prevent child labor to restore the rights of children and adolescents, and above all, do not stop studying, stressed the project psychologist.
