The Chimborazo Prefecture, in coordination with the Provincial Board, will hold this Friday, November 6, the Socio-Economic Production Fair in the community of San Miguel de Pomachaca, Palmira parish of the Guamote canton, where lupine seed will be delivered to 288 beneficiaries and technical aids to the elderly and people with disabilities, framed in the project “Socio-Economic Strengthening of Families of Priority Care Groups”.
The fair will benefit the priority attention groups of the Palmira parish, from the Sarachupa, San Francisco de Bishud and San Miguel de Pomachaca communities.
Aurelio Espinoza, head of the project “Socio-Economic Strengthening of the Families of the Priority Attention Groups” of the Provincial Board explained that with the delivery of certified lupine seeds it is intended to cultivate in about 144 hectares of land, “each beneficiary is will give you 50 pounds of selected seed of lupine, Andean. The objective is to carry out seed multiplication plots, in this way it is possible to contribute to the social and economic development of the priority groups of the Palmira parish ”, added Espinoza.
Two technical trainings were held 15 days ago to farmers in the communities of Sarachupa, San Francisco de Bishud and San Miguel de Pomachaca, on the subject of lupine cultivation management, since due to the health emergency they could not be grouped together. the families that use this productive Project.
We also proceeded with the delivery of support canes and medicines, totally free, prior to a medico-social evaluation carried out to the elderly and people with disabilities from the aforementioned communities; Sarachupa, San Francisco de Bishud and San Miguel de Pomachaca of the Guamote canton.
