The visit and support to the areas affected by the Sangay volcano activity continues

About 4 tons of cattle feed was delivered by the Chimborazo Prefecture to the Copalillo, Sacramento and Guagal precincts, belonging to the Cumandá canton, areas that are affected by the ash fall, after the activity of the Sangay volcano.

“Here, we all have a family and one or two vaquitas that have been affected by this natural incident, such as not thanking the prefect, Dr. Juan Pablo Cruz, for caring about our community, he is always aware of us,” said Manuel We saw, president of the Copalillo campus.

There are about 300 families who benefit from this delivery and who are dedicated to agriculture and livestock. The animals in this sector run the risk of death because they consume the grass mixed with ash, but with the help and assistance of the Chimborazo Prefecture the animals have clean and fresh food.

“For the animals that are suffering, it is sad, because they do not eat, there is a lot of land. I am alone and my cattle is like my family (…) thanks for this help ”, expressed Manuel Chacaguasay, a resident of Copalillo.

Manuel Chacaguasay, 78 years old, points out that all his life he has dedicated himself to cattle ranching and is afraid of losing his animals, they are like his family. It recognizes the management of the Prefecture, and even more so, for the immediacy in the attention. “I thank Mr. (…) we woke up surprised, everything was with ash, here we are dedicated to agriculture and livestock,” he concluded.

The Chimborazo Prefecture has identified all the areas affected by the ash fall, and during the next few weeks, it will continue to provide more food for the damaged cattle.
