Tourism is reactivated in the Guayllanag district of Cumandá with the improvement of roads

The Chimborazo Prefecture inaugurated the Miraflores-Mirador de Guayllanag road, there are 7 km of soil improvement with an investment of USD 124,391.44, belonging to the Cumandá canton, which was intervened with the machinery of the Provincial Government, 1 Phase, to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.

“In order to open roads, improve and maintain roads, it is what has now allowed me to operate for more time in the Cumandá canton, of the year five months that I am in office, about 9 months (and counting) the machinery has been permanently here (…) Despite a strike and a pandemic, we have not stopped, ”said Dr. Juan Pablo Cruz, prefect of Chimborazo.

In addition, this road connects with a tourist place, the Mirador, where various recreational and sports activities are promoted and practiced (horseback riding, downhill, enduro, hiking, paragliding, camping, etc.) as well as the landscape that Cumandá offers. to the inhabitants and tourists.

“This will help us to travel more easily and safely to our communities, tourists or non-tourists (…), as a Campus we are very proud to have authorities that work together, being the path to success,” said Jorge Espinoza, president of the Guayllanag campus. .

The place was inaugurated with other provincial and local authorities, among these the Municipality of Cumandá, after the act the paragliding track was recognized, where hours later, national and foreign pilots, with more than 20 years of experience, carried out demonstrations of this adventure sport.

“Cumandá is quite touristy, thanks to the work coordinated with the Provincial Government we can improve the road network that is the responsibility of the institution and thus exploit the spaces that are often hidden, this is a very important advance to house the largest number of visitors to boost the economy of the sector ”, explained Eliana Medina, mayor of Cumandá.
